Bankrupt

The subtitle might as well read "The Intellectual and Moral Bankruptcy of the Apostolic Assembly"

Who knew that a blog such as this would expose supposed wrong doing by so many men and women, young and old on both sides or on no side of the current AA situation.

In our age of instantaneous information available to all, accountability will be demanded. The old, smelly, stale carpet in our house has been removed and replaced with transparent glass thereby removing the opportunity for hidden agendas, intentions and actions to swept under the rug. On this new surface we will be able to see all the fingerprints, smears, smudges, mud and dirt. That is a good thing because they kinds of items can be easily cleaned, addressed as soon as they appear.

It almost hurts to read all the things hurled out about brothers I've held in high regard. It seems that as soon as a name comes it is like they are the object of a pie throwing contest in a county fair, including the dead including the recently deceased.

At the most very basic level the fault of the AA has that we have been taught not to question authority in any manner. The AA body has been taught to almost deify the man behind the pulpit or sitting in the big chair on the platform. We've been taught to roll out the red carpet, kiss their ring finger and believe that this person holds absolute authority. The ignorance of our forefathers treated leaders as though they where the high priests. As far as I know there is only one high priest.

As the newer generation moves into their own, we must realize they've been taught through higher learning institutions how to think critically: Question authority.

"Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action". http://www.criticalthinking.org/aboutCT/definingCT.shtml

Unfortunately, our under-educated pastors and ministers are still of the mentality that we must believe and act according to what the man behind the pulpits dictates. Why? Because if he is behind the pulpit it must be the truth. There really is no logic in this type of thinking, even though this is the mentality that rules the ignorant masses. Fortunately hermanos, we are no longer part of that ignorant mass.

And our leaders played us because of our ignorance, we've been lied to, cheated, talked about mis-treated (anyone recognize this song). We've had dogma shoved down our throats with no biblical validity but "if you don't do what the pastor says, you are disobedient and rebellious".

Pastors/ministers/bishops/leaders, do me favor and stop preaching about the way I look on the outside. You are filled with sin, filth and deceit on the inside. Don't worry about sisters wearing pants, they are not going to hell because of it. There is absolutely no biblical validity to this! God does not love a pant wearer any less then a non-pant wearer. Don't preach to me about wearing jewelry, there to is no biblical validity to this either. I can use the same argument about watches and broaches, it is just stupid! The veil...let's not even go there.

We are saved by God's Grace not by what you think I should look like. It's funny how you think you can make God love someone more because of the way YOU want them to look.

In reality what you are doing is exactly what you've been doing - living a double standard and causing those in your congregations to live with double standards.

I teach my children to behave the same way when they are with me and when they are not with me. I teach them not to hide from me, I teach them that, I, as there father am not perfect and will make mistakes. And when I do make mistakes I will need their help and support. I teach them that they will make mistakes and they do not need to hide those mistakes from me because I will be there for them and not for the purpose of knocking them down. I teach my children that you are going to make mistakes, be selfish in your decision making and guidance (I do this because of your past history of looking out for your best interest and not mine) and not accurately apply God's word. I teach them it is their responsibility to take what you spoken and verify its validity with God's word - ...study to show thyself approved.

When you get behind the pulpit this coming Sunday, please remember, I am probably more educated than you, I probably make more money than you. I've spent countless hours studying God's word, studying for my degrees and analyzing financial and legal documents for real world business decisions. In my career I am compensated by helping other individuals and corporations make short and long term business projections. The bottom line is, I can see a grift coming from a mile away. (If you notice sometimes I wear my boots on Sunday.)

Spare me the dogma, God saved us by his grace, fortunately not your ignorance. It is because of your past decisions we have come to an intellectual and moral bankruptcy in our beloved organization.

We must reorganize and refocus our efforts in teaching God's grace, not Apostolic Assembly dogma.

Dios les pague

Did zuñiga sue prado, for his kids driving having caused the death of his daughter?....I think thats what I'm getting out of it....nothing sure though...

Anonymous said...

If anything, it looks like the Zuniga's are pressing charges against Victor Prado Jr. for causing the death of their poor daughter.

If I was Brother Zuniga, I'd hire a hitman for what he did to my daughter.

Anonymous said...

Yes that's exactly what it is! Zuniga is suing prado, and either the assembly od=r the Disctict! KEEP on searching, you WILL find the othee lawsuit where the GB is being sued.

I did search its just that they charge you a fee everytime for the documents...should I be searching under civil cases?....cause thats where I found these, but nothing else on the aa or the GB

why would they be bringing the AA into their lawsuit? Jr was not a representative of the AA?

Not sure, but I heard it had something to do with an AA activity.

what happened anyway with that? I heard he was racing on the freeway- is that so? how old is he anyway?

If you are familiar with the courts system you will know that anything filed will not be available for our perusal for about 2-3 weeks after it has been filed. Most of the CA courts are behind in the inputting- I guess too many litigious people-

A decade and a half after deadly riots
scarred South Los Angeles, an ambitious
$100-million housing and retail complex
spanning several blocks is set to
get underway this winter.
The project is church-inspired and partly
church-financed. Plans call for 150
condos, 100 apartments for seniors,
offices for small businesses, child
day care and stores to serve the
neighborhood. Construction job
training will be provided for
unskilled workers.
The planned development is in the
blocks around 85th and Hoover
streets, where existing apartment
buildings tend to be locked up like
fortresses, protected with metal
fences to discourage intruders.
"It's a rough area," said developer
Scott Chaplan of Santa Monica, who
is teaming with Bishop Noel Jones,
pastor of City of Refuge Ministries
church, and other supporters. "We
have had drive- by shootings in the
past."
City Councilman Bernard Parks says
he supports the project in part
because it will include units that
aren't subsidized for the poor.
"Most of the new market-rate housing
for purchase or rent has moved out of
this area," Parks said. "We're not getting
the variety of housing that's needed."
Condos at Bethany Square are
expected to cost $340,000 to
$380,000, the developers said.
Land has been assembled in the predominantly
black and Latino neighborhood,
plans are drawn, permits
are being sought, early cash has been
raised, and construction is set to
begin in January -- all at the newest
environmental standards

You are wrong that I have anything against the Aguilar family, I happen to like them very much.

I have seen him evolve from a kid manipulated by D.J. into a friendly and respected minister.

I can say that the reason why Abel Aguilar left San Jose area was because D.J. was the Pastor of The First Church in San Jose and Abel Aguilar of Central Church.

By that time Abel had painfully learned the true colors of D.J.: his manipulation, control, ousting of many young ministers and their wives out of the AA, and Abel knew that it was only a matter of time before D.J. finished him off too.

God has blessed Abel Aguilar in Santa Ana.

What his daughter Jamie is doing and what Abel has tolerated is only to have compassion on other youths that through inexperience make mistakes.

Because he has reconciled and restored her, more power to him.

The Scripture says that "he who doesen't take care of his own, is worse than an infidel and has denied the faith."

We PK's have suffered enough at the mercy of church members and the HGB.

Probably Mrs Malverde or Mrs. my hubby only got 2 votes.

Rachel Malverde has lived high on the hog for a looooong time...Really nice trips to NYC every year, probably most of it paid with the company credit card, I wouldn't put it past Sammy to use the AA credit card to pay for her wigs 2.

And don't even get me started on the other one. but Mrs Pacheco your hubby in my opinion is a scum bucket, I sure hope you have more decent feeling inside for the people your Husband has rippped off.

Do you really feel proud that he won( oh excuse me not won because nobody voted for him)This is Hubby Hubby 2 vote. do u feel embaressed by having to introduce him as the little gremlim nobody wanted.

Oh, I forgot! California and Texas were the first states to form the Apostolic Assembly.

So of course, they have seen more, suffered more, experienced more, felt more, gone through more, cried through, ousted, ran off, manipulated, controled, deprived, blackballed, etc....more.

We will pray for those other states so they don't have to go through the abuse, manipulation, that we have been and are still experiencing. This horrendous christian legalistic treatment by the HGB and their wives with their chongo and so called submissiveness will be exposed, dealt with as hypocritial, ungodly and manmade!

The Assembly has always been Californiacentric. If your not a preacher, teacher or musician from CA, you are consider part of the third world.

When one see's the cannibalization of churches, members and leaders in CA it is obvious we stopped being productive reaching the lost and turned on each other.

I think the bible says Satan would sift us like wheat. Other states have their issues but the mainstay of unethical activity is in CA.

It's time we broke that yoke and spread out to the other 49 states. I'm all for moving the assembly to TX. At least it will be a fresh start.

No more Californication.

Any idea what that will do to the property value.

We are not going anywhere..we're fighting to the end and if that involves getting the IRS and

And we're filing crimmal against Malverde and pacheco for using their position for their own personal and private gain. Last I heard that was against the law

You sound like a texas pastor.

Not to many people knew that DJ was pastoring in San Jose at one time.

The only difference is that by the time you left DJ had left and Abel was just starting to pastor Central church.

DJ had already been gone for probably about 6 years from 1st San jose when Aguilar moved to Santa Ana.

Opps!!

You are right, Aguilar is a good guy.

Abel's other brother in law was getting ready to leave the AA and so Abel went to take over Santa Ana.

You have to remember that Abel was a minister under his father-in-law in Santa Ana for years when he was National Youth president.

Also, this is the church which his wife grew up in before they got married.

It was a perfect fit.

Comments on a UPC blog

I heard from an Apostolic Assembly Pastor that they could be on the verge of a split. from my understanding , someone or a group of preachers Rigged the last election.
----------------------------------
Seems every organization is going thru a shaking right now does it not?
-----------------------------------
I have my thought regarding the apostolic assembly- I havent been apart of them for 14 years though.
-----------------------------
I am floored, but not totally shocked.
------------------------------
It is a very controlled group-imo.
Their younger generation is leaving by the grooves!
------------------------
the generational and cultural gap is huge
The younger crowd is way more liberal than the UPCI youth.
__________________
That's not true!! they wear a veil ! !
----------------
This my surprise you but I noticed that when I WAS a so-called youth myself!!!
------------
It is and the older generation wants to hold on to their culture-
-----------
Not all of the churches are requiring veils, Thad. Those days are virtually done.
---------------
And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Romualdo Pacheco was the only Hispanic who has served as Governor of California. He was born in Santa Barbara, California on October 31, 1831.
In 1860 Pacheco took an extended trip to Europe. He returned to California in the summer of 1861, just in time to start campaigning as a Republican for a seat in the California State Senate.
In November 1876 Pacheco was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives by a margin of one vote. His opponent, Peter D. Wigginton, contested the election and the case was referred to the House Committee on Elections. Meanwhile the Republican leader in the House, James A. Garfield, answered Wigginton's charges of election fraud by stating that Pacheco held the certificate of election, which was conferred by the Supreme Court of California. Pacheco was seated on October 17, 1877 and was appointed to the Committee on Public Lands. On February 7, 1878 the House Committee on Elections refused to accept Pacheco's certificate of election and voted in favor of Wigginton.
I find this interesting.

Sorry hermanos and hermanas, but this is sister from Central church.

I can just say that brother Aguilar asked bishop Arias and the general board if it was o.k. to install brother Arellano here at Central church. Brother Arellano's family member told me this.

In other words brother Arellano was hand picked by brother Aguilar to be pastor of Central Church.

Brother Arellano has nothing negative to say about brother Aguilar regarding his departure.

Actually, I have a lot of respect that brother Aguilar made sure Central got a good pastor.

I really like brother Arellano.

If I had to choose between the two I like brother Arellano but I really like the Aguilar's.

I see how pastor's are spoken about and lied about that I would never want to be married to a pastor.

Enough about Abel Aguilar, his ministry is productive and fruitful. Bro. Aguilar and his ministry is probably one of the only shining stars in the AA.

The accusations are fruitless and without merit. Let's move on.

You cannot hold the actions of his daughter against him. She is an adult and make adult (in this case adulterous) decisions. They (the family) have had a big dose of humble pie.

To those of us that have growing children, we would not wish this upon our own, let's not knock Bro. Aguilar over this matter any longer.

It's time to move on.

Anonymous said...

That's right. I'm sure there are plenty of pastors, bishops/GBs that have and have had plenty of problems with their children growing up in this society. We should not attack one person/ family so much. Nobody's perfect.
As we can see our leaders have made many mistakes throughout AA history, but we must move on. We seriously need to pray for Godly leadership.

Move on, move on, how? that's the problem we put every sin under the rug. God despises such an action, the church cannot move on with so
much sin. We need to face it clean the house and then move on.

He who neglects discipline despises himself, But he who listens to reproof acquires understanding. Proverbs 15:32

Like the rest of us?? We're all hiding behind anonymity- we're all talk- but none of us have the guts to put ourselves out there and start something that is TRULY going to make a difference. How do we do that?

Our whole organization needs a major overhaul and our consitution needs some MAJOR ratifications, how are WE, the people going to get that done? Do we continue to depend on our leaders, present and future to have the vision to do that?

Besides blogging- what action(s) are WE the people going to take that is going to manifest itself in actual change for the AA?

We see the need for change in our AA, we all WANT a change, but how are WE going to achieve it?

The fact that we have this blog in order to vent our frustrations, our gossip, our legit stories, our complaints, to get information etc. is one thing- and mind you- I'm sure pastors and the GB have read the blogs- what is it really changing? it's opening our eyes and changing our view perhaps- but how are we to change things?

It's time to stop complaining and waiting for the lawsuit to change things for us. If anything- only re-elections may be the only thing to come out of it. It's speculation.

But what are WE, the people, going to do to make the difference in changing what needs to be changed? The lawsuit could be in litigation for years, in the meantime are we just going to just complain? How can we be sure that our voices are heard and that the changes are the right ones?

Every time you propose a change within the AA, you are usually denied because either:

1. The change is too drastic
2. Violates the constitution

If you then propose a rebuttal to why the change is worth the trouble, then you're considered:

1. Rebellious
2. Anti-AA

It's a catch 22. Sorry folks, mark my words, you won't be seeing "change" any time in this century. It's been the same 'ole AA since it started. That's why there's only about ummmm 4 AA churches that are actually growing. What a sad statistic.

If Solomon goes on to be a part of this 2006 QC, there would never have been this fiasco because he wouldn't have ousted Valverde.

Brother Aguilar still preaches that he will not ride in a car with you if you don't pay tithes. One would have to assume he doesn't ride in the same car as his daughter's - right?

I think they need an overdose of meekness.

OK READ CAREFULLY! This was discussed in previous blogs.
1) The Texas attorney, had California attorneys take over the case. They are - Good, Wildman, Hegness & Walley Law Firm in Newport Beach, California. This Partnership includes Professional Corporations cases. they have some high profile attorneys. And yes, they are very tough lawyers.
2) The lawsuit HAS BEEN FILED, in LA! It will take a couple of weeks before it is posted in the internet.
3) The QB and the GB are BOTH being sued! The reasons are to long to explain.
4) The QB and the GB are supposed to get served, at headquarters, either today, Thursday, or Friday!
5) Yes the consenters DO HAVE over $25,000 in donations, from people and churches for starters (tells you they have the support of the people).
5) NO the GB and the QB CANNOT use AA funds to defend themselves. Corporte law does not allow it. Look at ENRON and others.

Let's pray the GB does the right thing, resign and settle out of court. If there is a new election, the qualifying board will probably be composed of lawyers who have no vested interest in the outcome.

Yes true Bishops , pastors have problems with their kids.

Only difference is they get away with everything. Our kids would sneeze the wrong way and BANG, they where put down right away . Dress the way the MOG didn't like it and bang again. always being preached down at.

Thats one of the reasons a lot of our kids aren't in church anymore and you want and you feel sorry for the little bratty PK's.

they go screw behind their husbands back and in a few weeks they are cutting a CD.

they drive like manic's down the freeway kill someone and the whole AA is getting sued, oh but what an outstanding person.
Lets leave him on the payroll.

Thats what should matter our children were murdered along the way, and none of the GB gives a rat's _ss about.

I wish I had been there for my kids, but back then, it was "DON"T GO AGAINST GOD'S ANIONTED" I should have use my anionted boot on their _sses

So cry me a river GB AND QB your going OUT

One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her small boy into bed. She was about to turn

"Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?" The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug.

"I can't dear," she said.

"I have to sleep in Daddy's room." A long silence was broken at last by his shaky little voice:

"The big sissy."

Tonight all the GB members are going to be sleeping with their wives.

Talk about politics! The GB is soooOOo good at deflecting the issue at hand. They remind me of little teenagers trying to avoid the subject and coming up with something totally different.

Now for playing dumb, they're ending up in court. That's what happens when junior inherits the church, then is given bishop, then becomes a board member. The only thing required is a popular last name in order to become a GB member. No education, no schooling, nada. Can't believe they're in charge of helping souls get to heaven. Even McDonald's requires more education to flip burgers than the GB does to become a GB member.

About the year 1990, Bishop Manuel Castorena came from Mexico City where he had just terminated being Obispo Presidente de la Iglesia Apostolica de Mexico.

Bishop Castorena was invited by Bro. Manuel Vizcarra who was Presiding Bishop of the Apostolic Assembly to Pastor the AA church in Pacoima, CA.

Bishop Castorena pastored in Pacoima, then relocated to another property that he purchased for the AA on Brand Blvd in San Fernando, CA.

Bishop Castorena is a dynamic preacher, teacher CBAN. For many years he taught at the Colejio Biblico Apostolico in Mexico City, preparing many men and women for ministry.

Now Bro. Castorena is very ill and will be retiring from the pastorship of the Apostolic Assembly church in San Fernando this coming Sunday, November 4 at a special farwell service.

It would be wonderful to take a pause especially now that we are having such a difficult time in our Assembly, to acknowledge and appreciate a great warrior of God who has given it all to the Work of the Lord, and retires only because his health has failed him to the point that he is a double amputee.

Let us rejoice that this man has left such a great legacy with our AA and a bright mark for many to follow.

If you would like to send him an acknowledgement card or offering here is his home address where he resides with his wife:

It is being said that Bishop Abel V. Torres and the President had a heart to heart talk at the convention in Midland, TX. Some think the talk may have caused the President to reconsider his position. It is said that Bishop Torres pulled no stops whatsoever. He challenged the usefulness of the CID document at the ministers' meeting there after the President explained how they used it. Bishop Torres, we understand, explained that it was rather useless being that the terminology was vastly ambiguous and consequently it could be interpreted as anybody desired to do. He said that it has nothing specific. He also said he didn't understand why the use of it was barely being explained. It was being done after the fact, after the elections. If it was approved by the Pastors in 2005, why is it barely being explained in 2007, he asked. It seems that the President was unable to respond to the Bishop's comments. We don't know what exactly transpired during the personal encounter between the President and Bishop Torres, but we have heard that a few days later, when the President met with the Confederation boards, he stated that he was being sued and he admitted that he was to blame for it. We think that what Bishop Torres told him made an effect on him and made him realize that the QB did make many mistakes and that the President has not done his job to try find a solution. We don't know who let it out, but there were 2 other people present it seems when the President in tears asked Bishop Torres for forgiveness and said he greatly regretted that he did not respond to the plea that Bishop Torres made in writing.

Anonymous said...

To, "Talk about politics! The GB is soooOOo good at deflecting the issue at hand."

The GB is not "sooooo good at deflecting." In fact, the letters revealed the GB's lack of any political or leadership skill. Pacheco's letters looked liked a 6th grader wrote it.

Anonymous said...

Unfortunatly TO LITTLE TO LATE!!!

Anonymous said...

Abel Torres is an honorable man for your information. He is WELL respected and is a compassionate man. He is not moved by money, power,or fame.He is a very humble man of God and his vision is Jesus in all aspects. The scandals in this organization particulary, have been going on for a long time evidently... so are you going to just say its ok,lets move on and continue with the scandals?I don't like being part of an organization with continued hypocrisy. I am TRULY disturbed by the type of leaders we have leading this AA and the blockbuster of it all is that this is past an organization. This is an organization where JESUS CHRIST should be the center focus!!Unbelievable!!Men who we trust to "take care of the sheep", is all but lies, deception, fraud, and most importantly-HYPOCRISY! If the shoe fits, then wear it. All of these actions will go past the judicial system directly to the SUPREME and DIVINE System which is GOD ALMIGHTY.

Anonymous said...

We don't know who let it out, but there were 2 other people present it seems when the President in tears asked Bishop Torres for forgiveness.

This is what the AA has posted on their website as a requirement for their staff!

"HEADQUARTERS STAFF ADMINISTRATORS
The following administrators supervise the Headquarters’ administrative operations: Each of these administrators provides executive assistance to their respective Board Member. They can be reached by phone or by e-mail and function with the goal and mission “To Serve Christ’s Church With Diligence and Excellence” and with the guide and vision that in everything we do “Character Counts”.

CHARACTER COUNTS! WHAT A JOKE!

Anonymous said...

When they refer to "CHARACTER COUNTS" they meant a cartoon character. To make things a little more casual at the office, everyone is associated with a cartoon character. Makes the office environment a little more informal and makes for great fun!

Can you guess who Doppie is? What about Goofy?

Ha ha ha! No Lawsuit because of the elections. The Lord hath truly this day spoken and hath delivered the Holy GB to a certain Victory. The devil surely tricked you into thinking there was a movement against the GB. But as Lucifer tricked and fooled a legion of Angels, you have been cast down. You are no more than a fly on the buttox of a donkey. Your movement of rebellion is no more than an itch to the side of a cow. No more of your concern. Your passion of deciet hath died. So be it.

I hear that once the lawsuit is filed, the GB will agree to conduct another election in order to avoid going to court.

I hear the GB will not agree to the new elections. Some GB members will leave the AA before they will allow new elections.

Lets see who would leave:

Sanchez - Nope not enough people behind him.

Valverde - YES - He would do good outside of the AA. I think he REALLY wants to be PRESIDENT. (Sorry Sam) not in this life time.

Pacheco - NO - Not even his church will leave with him. He would not be willing to start over. Ooops. (500 members he as his Dad left them)

Maffey - NO

Espinoza - NO

Aguilar - YES - He would do great

Martin Del Campo - NO - He cant do it on his own. (Sorry Bishop you should have stayed in Mexico)

Prado - NO

Episcopal polity is a form of church governance which is hierarchical in structure with the chief authority over a local Christian church resting in a bishop (Greek: episcopos). This episcopal structure is found most often in the various churches of either Orthodox or CATHOLIC lineage. Some churches founded independently of these lineages also employ this form of church governance.
