Have you not seen the Rodney King Video? It doesn't matter what the video shows, they were found not guilty.
Do you realize that a very well respected group of pastors just tried to sue our Beloved Assembly and ended up losing their churches. You think our leaders are going to listen to a few foul mouthed, name calling, disrespectful noobs? I think not! You must realize one thing; the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus, Inc.(Texas and California) has the legal system behind them.
You can't fight City Hall. I am surprised they sued. I am surprised that some of these pastors are apologizing. "I'm sorry for pointing out how the AA and its constituents were defrauded from a fair election, can I have my church back"? But I do understand why they are apologizing: It is their livelihood at stake. That is very unfortunate because most of these pastors have nothing else to fall back on.
I did read Sister Rita Solomon's letter over on AA.info. She is very well respected, intelligent and well spoken. She articulated very well her feelings and emotions through her ordeal. The anxiety, the unknowing, the embarrassment, the humiliation, the frustration of trying to do what was right and being told you where wrong, the lack of clarity as to what the future holds, being called rebellious. As Bill Clinton said, "I feel your pain".
Now you know what countless other pastors wives, who where excommunicated and removed while your husband was on the General Board and stood their and said nothing, feels like. Welcome to the real world. And I do say that with the utmost respect and admiration for you and your husband's ministry...but it had to be said. This type of politics has been bred in our Assembly, many generations have been through this. You held the reigns and did nothing to change this, not only did you do nothing to change this, you fostered this corruption. You lived high of the hog and now the hog has turned and kicked you out of the pen.
You are free now, there is no need to come back. What are you going to come back to? Its easier to see how dirty things are when your not rolling around in it. Run free and be clean no one can hold property over your head anymore. All the other pastors are held hostage by their properties. John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. The truth is that Jesus did not intend for pastors to be slaves to an organization. An organization that can do what it wants, when it wants to whom in wants in the name of Jesus. Pastor's do not realize that they are held captive because of the structure of the AA. It controls the property therefore holds captive its pastors. I may not be Bible scholar but I don't think this is what God intended. It breeds corruption, pride of the flesh.

If you want to really affect change, you must change from within. Lose the slang, lose the hostility, put on a tie and a suit and STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED. Speak clearly, assertively and with the peace and kindness of Christ. You must grow into a position of respect and admiration, then...when you hold the reigns, you must not let the power go to your head. You must be a giver, not selfish and look out for future generations of Latino's across this country. Not you and your children's fancy houses and cars. This is how we must build wealth, by effecting the lives of others beyond your site and reach. YOU MUST AFFECT THE EFFECT!(That is for Freddie Jose, some of the old timers will understand the FJ reference). It will take time, be steadfast.

Most clergy are educated in such matters and now have the tools to deal with these sad situations. In the past, it was inconceivable to even think that anyone could harm a child in such a manner, so as humans they went into DENIAL.

b) Their was sponsorship from business people outside the church to purchase an Hammond organ,they sponsored over $3,000.00 and the rest was put in payments to the organ by the church. Total would be around $6500 alltogether.
SAD TO SAY: The rebellious followers which consisted of around 20-30 people that stayed with the AA along side with the corrupt GB, they had the upperhand in keeping the entire setup along with the church BECAUSE it was all under the AA's NAME!!!

The qualifying word is "most clergy." I was speaking about all denominations. Not just ours.
The second key word is, "educated."
Sadly, our denomination has failed to educate the ministerial body on such topics. Homosexuality is still a taboo topic. It could be our culture. If you read this blog, the language towards homosexuals is very strong. The world labels this as "hate -messages." Our leaders have not addressed this in a more loving manner. They just send the "fags" all to hell. Most of these, "fags," have been violated at a young age. They need restoration not condemnation.
So again, when more and more ministers educate themselves with prayer and suplication, we can deal with this more openenly and expereince healing. Some ministers are dealing with this in our
assembly.
IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN ABUSED, GO TO YOUR PASTOR. iF HE DOES NOTHING, USE THE JUSTICE SYSTEM! If we do nothing then, sin prevails.
Let's stop hating on our leaders. They just don't know better or have the tools to do something about it. Use the justice system. Justice always prevails.

When Pastor Torres had the final service at the Midland church building on Sunday, September 14th it was absolutely TREMENDOUS. There was approximately 600 in attendance! What a finale! Not to mention the thirteen, yes thirteen baptisms. What a contrast to the scraggly few (like 25) who were present at the Wednesday service afterwards.
Pastor Torres assured everyone that he was NOT asking anyone to follow him. What courage in the face of such a situation! The decedents (ROY and LEYVA) on the other hand have furtively, like thieves in the night, gone around constantly trying to turn the members against Pastor. They have been called traitors and much more by the faithful and loyal members. Too bad, but they asked for it.
Pastor Torres is a real hero and a great man of God! God bless him.
We will already be congregating with our beloved Pastor Torres on Sunday at the Martin Luther King building on Scharbauer. Martin Luther King, a great leader who suffered injustices, what a coincidence.

When you are indoctrinated in this culture and conditioned to not question you find it hard to break free.

again, I repeat, Family work very hard to "keep their children' out of the street gangs, and out of "harms" way. While within our
own Apostolic Assembly there are
"victimizers" who prey on the innocence of the Youth, telling.
"Look at me Iam a success, Iam in the "lime light" its a wonderful "life style". And this is a sin not to "educate" our youth to see the 'tell tale' signs of danger when 'these victimizers approach them.

The Apostolic Assembly tries to emulate many other successful organizations. One thing they have not been able to do is establish a good school/seminary for ministers and pastors. CBAN is an attempt, but it lacks the theologically trained teachers necessary to produce biblically qualified students.

I attended my Districts " Bible College " and I cant believe what was passed off as solid teaching.
I believe I have learned more thru my own studies than both years at the Bible College combined.
One of the so called teachers was only there because he was the Bishop's son in law.
This guy did not have the talent or calling to teach at all let alone at that level.
In the Apostolic Assembly, you can go from the lawnmower to the pulpit in 6 months.

I understand your point of view..the youths that were "victimized" in the past, are prbly, and I hope not, victimizing others, because that's what they were in a sense taught..the chain needs to be broken with ALOT OF PRAYER. I sincerely feel for the victims of abuse, and no one should have to pass through that.
Question: Wasn't the CID document voted by all Pastors?
I think we all need to do alot of praying and I know God will put everything in place at HIS timing.

Bishop Bernardo Hernandez, from
Jim Town, Whittier Esperanza's street church was the founder.
(No relation to Pastor David Hernandez, who also is with the Lord.
Brother Bernardo H. was the

Brother Nava gets credit. Not true.
Bishop Bernardo had a good formal education, was a professor in Mexico and had a "strong," Baptist Church planting background.
Like Peter Wagner, and Chuck Smith.
The attorney that assisted was
Joseph Mandel at 409 South Grand street in Los Angeles.
Years later when the AA was taken to Court in the Fresno Area.
The attorney representing the AA in a case also of a church property asked the Bishop in the Central District.
Does your organization have any women?
The Bishop said, "No" and the Attorney asked, why not? And the Bishop said,
Ask the President, who was Brother Nava. So the Attorney asked Brother Nava why don't you have women in your constitution?
To this Brother Nava answered, "Because the Bible tells us to have women in "submission" and her husband, and also to have the women silent in the congreagations."
The attorney was perplexed, and said nothing more.
He prabably figured we were of "Mexican descent."
Its true, the machismo, nationalismo and Patronismo syndrome still exists.
But the Women Love it!!!
They confuse this by what the Bible tells about the "Women being "submissive to their husband."

in the AA.
And the deepest struggles is WOMEN between WOMEN. Women do not "stick together" .
They are extremely "jealous" of each other.
In the church if the Pastor's wife gets involved in let say the "Praise team" she was be critized" If she doesn't she will
also be critized.
If she wearS 'nice clothes' she is spending too much. If she doesn't she is "sloppy" and careless.
Many confuse "Holiness" (dress attire) with neglect and slopiness.
She can only be involved in "making tamales, prayer meetings,
\Only to be in the "Flor Azul" committee and the "hard' working areas of "fund raising"
Also like "supporting the GB.
The monies "used to be with the Dorcas Tresorera, but after Sanchez it was "mandatory from all District Tresurers to send the money Directly to the GB offices..
Some one asked, "where could they find more "history on the AA?.
Especially when you have only been with the AA for less that 30 years.
I replied that at the Rancho C. Book store you can call, if they ever answer and get the book'
La Historia de la Asamblea Apostolica until 1960's.

During the time of Bishop Llorente and before, When they were with the Azusa streeet Church, that is now on First street here in Los Angeles, by Alameda and the Hollywood Freeway, near "Japanese Town".
At the Azusa street Church, Women were ordained and were ordained up to Brother Nava's reign, whick was 30 years plus.
In the book that Iam telling you about that you can get at the Rancho C. book store you will see the original credentials issued by the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World.
PAW: Afro-American Jesus Movement that still exists.
There in the credentials you will see the word the name and it reads
(he or she) to be Ordained.
And at the bottom of the credentials you will read.
"Women officiate in marriage services, ordination, preaching and funeral services. etc.
Interesting. This continued with
Bishop Llorente, but Brother Nava had it done away with.
The Gb of that time and all ministers did not "allow' the women to wear "velos" it was considered to have "evolved' from the Catholic church.
The real "veil" is that the Patriach's women wore like Leah,
Rachel, Rebecca and of course the "Taliban".
Brother Nava would tell his wife'
"Quitate esa 'garga" y ponte tu sombrero".
"Take off that "rag" and put on your hat."
All the wives of the
Church founders never wore the "so"
called veils..
You can see this also in the book,
"Historia de la Asamblea Apostolica." The pictures of the first congregations. Some wore veils but definately not in Brother Nava's congregation.

Brother Nava and Brother Cantu were great friends.
It was through their effors that God helped these two frienships that the church grew.
Brother Nava invited Brother Cantu
to come to California because he
needed some one to support him in the problems he was having keeping his house here in Los Angeles.
Brother Hermosillo wanted to have Brother Nava's house that Brother Nava had purchased to be called the Presidental House of the AA.
Brother Cantu assisted in solving this problem. It was decided the house was Brother's Nava's.
At that time that Brother Bernardo Hernandez had died and they came to an agreement that Brother Cantu
should be the next General Secretary. Brother Cantu was sub/treasure.
Like I told you before Pres/.Vice, Secretary,/ Sub., secretary, tresurer,/ sub., tesorero, That was the gb.
The committees came later.
Through Brother Efrain.
Brother Nava, Brother Cantu, Brother Epifano Cota, father of Brother Isaac Cota, Brother Jesus Valdez and brother Arturo Hermosillo, Brother Felipe Rangel and Brother Julian Aguirre Sr., and Brother Pedro Nava were always working for the 'betterment of the Apostolic Assembly.
Always respected each other very much.
There were only two districts here in California. Northern, and Southern California.
Bakersfield up to San Franciso, and from here in Los Angeles, to Riverside, S. B and San Diego.
Brother Nava and Brother Cantu would always vist our church and all the other churches.
They would come in twos or three. Brother Ortega came years later from Mexico.
He too was great friends with Brother Nava and Brother Cantu.
Till their very last days on Earth Brother Nava and Brother Cantu were friends.
They would both visit our home where my father Pastored in the Riverside area.
Brother Nava could play the madoline and Brother Cantu would sing.
Great evangelists. They always visited the churches together.
When there was a division also in the church of Brother Daniel Grijalva in San Jose.
I remember my Father who was the Bishop in Riverside area in the 1950's, went with Brother Nava and Brother Cantu, he told us that they stopped in Tulare for Bishop Brother Epifano Cota.
With the four of them working together the 'problem was resolved' and Brother Olague became Pastor of the Church in San Jose.
From there they went to Russell City to visit Brother Celso Moran and then to San Francisco to visit Brother Ben Nava the pastor there.
And Brother Julian Aguirre, Sr. who pastored Stockton church.
All these brothers that their families are still many part of the ministerial body work together always,and I understand they are great friends with each other families.
It wasn't until the brothers that came to be in ministerial body came from Mexico that Brother Efrain had problems and also the oldtimer's Gb.
Somethings that happened the AA had bought some large parcels of land in the Arlington area near our house.
The Gb. wanted to build a Bible College, an auditorium and to have the homes of GB also in that property.
For years Brother Nava and Brother Cantu struggled to have this built dream realized.
The Arlington Aposotlic Church is there now, pastored by Brother John Almaraz.
The AA had a "law suit" filed against them in the Sanger area from a Minister that was going to a convention in Tulare and this minister had an accident and "No insurance", and the other driver was paralyzed.
The AA was suffering from the loss of this law suit. It was totally with no money. The settlement went against the AA and it was then that the building of that property in that area came to a complete 'hault'.
Too bad because by the time the AA
recovered from the 'law suit' on the settlement of that accident.
It was too late to build, The bible School the homes for the Gb members, there were plans also for an elementary up to high school grades.
This was because the zoning of that property had "changed" and then it was too late to be approved for multiple buildings.
It was during this time that Brother Nava and Brother Cantu that more temples were ever dedicated.
You can read this in the Book "La Historia de la Asamblea Aposotlica".
The Assembly was very blessed to have Brothers like Jesus Valdez, from Oceano, the father of Bishop Galaviz's wife from Oxnard.
Brother Jesus Valdez built many churches.
And also Brother Francisco Munoz from the San Diego area. Whose wife still lives in National City.
My mother who has gone to live with the Lord told us that Brother Nava's wife and Brother Cantu's wife were great prayer warriors and were great friend.

The breaking up with Iglesia de Mexico and the AA was a very hard thing to do and it affected an awful lot of people.
This is because the majority of the Pastors now here in AA are products, or by products of the Iglesia De Mexico.
It all started that when and during the Administration of Brother Manuelito Gaxiola was president in Mexico, the Gb of Mexico established a "Charter in Registering themselves as an corporation here in the USA.
The AA had very good relations with the Mexican Church since the days of Brother Nava-Brother Rivas etc.
Brother Nava was protected by Brother Rivas, and Brother Rivas by Brother Nava.
Brother Nava and Brother Rivas were the "eldest" of all the ministerial body that were in the two GB's. So of course they were 'the ones to issue credentials etc.
The AA and Iglesia worked very good. But then the AA starting sending ministers to Mexico, they even have an individual President there. They have Pastors from the
AA pastoring there.
So La Iglesia did the same. Now the Iglesia utlizies "Las Cellulas" and wow they are "growing".
I understand that they have allowed women to conduct services and also for women to preach.
They also do not inforce the taking off of jewlery when a person is baptized. Until the "Lord makes that change" in the heart of the person".
There were strong negociations to try to resolve the issue of separating from each other. The fact that the Iglesia and the AA helped in the "elections" each supervising each other's votes.
This to me was questionable????
From when they officially split, to the extent that letters were sent out to us Pastors not to receive the Pastors or visiting ministers in their pulpits.
It has caused a complete confusion, because we all belong to Christ"s Church.
And so what if there are Iglesia de Mexico churches every where.
Look at the Catholic Church, it has churches in every corner.
I strongly believe that many AA Pastors are going to join up with La Iglesia de Mexico, whose head-quarters are in Gaudalajara,Ja.
Mexico. Its in the Intenet.

When the Gb of the AA used to go to the convention in Mexico the Iglesia would treat them 'like royalty."

They did not stay long at all.
Brother Felipe Rangel who was very young and voicetrus took care of this.
What these ministers, wanted to do is to have
no conventions, no districts, no sectors that were in the planning then. There were only districts. And not to have the Dorcas participate in anything. They said that the Dorcas were 'actually preaching' when they had their meetings.
And that a Pastor needed to be present at their meetings every time. So they named un "Assesor" that was to "report to the Gb what the Dorcas did and said. These brothers that are not longer with us 'firmly suggested this and it had to be 'enforced.
The Gb complied. This was the Gb of those years. Antonio Nava, president, Arturo Hermosillo Vice-Presidente, Bernardo Hernandez, Secretario/ sub secretario Benjamin Cantu. Tresurer Reyes Coronado and Epifano Cota sub/tesorero.
I write in the compulor like an 80 year old.
Iam encouraged to write. But you still do not understand me because I think Iam thinking you know this
history, and many know more than I do like Brother Antonio, and Old Timer and others.
But how can I answer you if I just write three lines. this is about what most bloggers do.
But seriously Iam not going to get "baited any more". I'll continue to answer if I think its edifying, or something to protect our youth.
