Have you not seen the Rodney King Video? It doesn't matter what the video shows, they were found not guilty.
Do you realize that a very well respected group of pastors just tried to sue our Beloved Assembly and ended up losing their churches. You think our leaders are going to listen to a few foul mouthed, name calling, disrespectful noobs? I think not! You must realize one thing; the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus, Inc.(Texas and California) has the legal system behind them.
You can't fight City Hall. I am surprised they sued. I am surprised that some of these pastors are apologizing. "I'm sorry for pointing out how the AA and its constituents were defrauded from a fair election, can I have my church back"? But I do understand why they are apologizing: It is their livelihood at stake. That is very unfortunate because most of these pastors have nothing else to fall back on.
I did read Sister Rita Solomon's letter over on AA.info. She is very well respected, intelligent and well spoken. She articulated very well her feelings and emotions through her ordeal. The anxiety, the unknowing, the embarrassment, the humiliation, the frustration of trying to do what was right and being told you where wrong, the lack of clarity as to what the future holds, being called rebellious. As Bill Clinton said, "I feel your pain".
Now you know what countless other pastors wives, who where excommunicated and removed while your husband was on the General Board and stood their and said nothing, feels like. Welcome to the real world. And I do say that with the utmost respect and admiration for you and your husband's ministry...but it had to be said. This type of politics has been bred in our Assembly, many generations have been through this. You held the reigns and did nothing to change this, not only did you do nothing to change this, you fostered this corruption. You lived high of the hog and now the hog has turned and kicked you out of the pen.
You are free now, there is no need to come back. What are you going to come back to? Its easier to see how dirty things are when your not rolling around in it. Run free and be clean no one can hold property over your head anymore. All the other pastors are held hostage by their properties. John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. The truth is that Jesus did not intend for pastors to be slaves to an organization. An organization that can do what it wants, when it wants to whom in wants in the name of Jesus. Pastor's do not realize that they are held captive because of the structure of the AA. It controls the property therefore holds captive its pastors. I may not be Bible scholar but I don't think this is what God intended. It breeds corruption, pride of the flesh.
Back to the Revolutionaries...
If you want to really affect change, you must change from within. Lose the slang, lose the hostility, put on a tie and a suit and STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED. Speak clearly, assertively and with the peace and kindness of Christ. You must grow into a position of respect and admiration, then...when you hold the reigns, you must not let the power go to your head. You must be a giver, not selfish and look out for future generations of Latino's across this country. Not you and your children's fancy houses and cars. This is how we must build wealth, by effecting the lives of others beyond your site and reach. YOU MUST AFFECT THE EFFECT!(That is for Freddie Jose, some of the old timers will understand the FJ reference). It will take time, be steadfast.
I am afraid if you don't, this may be the beginning of the end of our beloved social.

CALEXICO — A jury on Thursday convicted a former pastor on a single misdemeanor charge of sexual battery for inappropriately touching a woman outside his home here.
Jurors took less than a day in returning a guilty verdict against Armando Barrientos, who was accused of running his hand down the victim’s back and touching her buttocks.
The defendant, who has been married for about 30 years, whispered into the victim’s ear that he “always wanted to caress” and kiss her, Imperial County Deputy District Attorney Jodi Miller said. Barrientos was a pastor at Apostolic Assembly in El Centro at the time of crime, and he was the victim’s pastor.
The case went to the jury Wednesday and jurors deliberated for 45 minutes, and spent another 45 minutes Thursday deliberating Barrientos’ fate.
Barrientos, who was out of custody and never arrested in the case, has no prior criminal history. He faces a maximum term of a year in county jail and must register as a sexual offender, Miller said.
It wasn’t available what level of sex offender Barrientos will have to register as. Not every sex offender is available to the public via Megan’s Law Web site, but they are all available to law enforcement.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 2.
Barrientos victimized the woman Oct. 14 last year after she dropped off an envelope to his home. Barrientos’ wife and adult daughter were inside the home when he walked the victim to her car and touched her.
Three other alleged victims testified that Barrientos touched them in similar ways, including touching their breasts.
The women found the courage to come forward with their testimony after the victim first brought charges against Barrientos.
Miller said she was “happy and satisfied with the verdict” and that she believed that justice has been served.
“It has been an emotional roller coaster ride for the victim and everyone’s happy with the result,” Miller said.

One thing it has taught us is that when you do not like a particular church or family it is because you recognize something in them that you yourself have with in you. So either you don't like because you see something in that church that you wish you had. Or you want to be just like them. Which of the two is it?

Calexico- El dia de ayer un jurado declaro culpable a un ex-pastor de el cargo de bateria sexual por haber tocado a una mujer en frente de su misma casa inapropiadatmente.
El jurado se tomo menos de un dia en regresar con el veridicto encontra de Armando Barrientos, quien es acusado de haber puesto su mano en las sentaderas de la victima.
El sospecho quien lleva 30 anos de casado, le dijo a la victima en su oido “siempre he tenido ganas de carisiarte” y luego la beso el diputado Abogado Distrital Jodi Miller de el condado de Imperial lo dijo. Barrientos era pastor de la Asamblea Apostolica de la fe en Cristo Jesus cuando occurio este crimen, siendo la victima miembra de su congregacion.
El jurado recibio el caso el Miercoles y se tomo solo 45 minutos para deiberar el caso y luego 45 minutos para deliberar el destino de Barrientos.
Barrientos, quien estaba fuera de custodia y no se le habia arrestado en este caso, no tiene historia criminal anterior. Barientos le espera aproximadamente a lo maximo un ano de carcel en el condado, y se tendra que registrar como un ofensor sexual, dijo Miller.
No se sabe todavia en que nivel de ofensor sexual se tendra que registrar Barrientos. No todos los ofensores sexual estan a la disposicion de el publico por medio de el sitio de internet de la ley de Megan, pero todos estan a disposicion de agencies de la ley.
El dia 2 de Octubre se le hara sentencia.
Barrientos abuso a su victima el 14 de Octubre de el ano pasado despues de que la victima entrego un sobre en su casa. La esposa y hija de Barrientos estaban dentro de la casa cuando Barrientos encaminaba a la victima a su carro tocancola inappropiadamente.

Las mujeres se dieron valor para presenter su testimonio despues de que la victima primero presento sus cargos encontra de Barrientos.
Miller dijo que estaba “feliz y satifecha con el veredicto” y que la justicia se habia servido.
“Ha sido un viaje emocional para la victima pero todos han quedado feliz con el resultado” dijo Miller.

From what we hear over here is that Pastor Torres is about to lose his church God Bless all these men for the hits that have had to take for the members and Pastor's everywhere. These men and their families have risked so much that God's kingdom can move forward.
Let’s keep on praying for these Men of God so they maybe continue to be blessed.

Dear Concerned:Thank you for my comments.. Yes, I was gone and visited several out of the way churches that the GB never visit because they are too busy...with their "bored meetings."
The Pastors I visted are young and work in "secular" jobs, very hard and in dangerous places, in order to "make ends meet."
My suggestions were to "keep on praying" so the Lord can do a miracle.
Miracles that God can do and does so these 9 individuals, that everyone is so "respectful of and so "terrified" of can be and will be removed by the Lord. IN THE NAME OF JESUS.....
Those GB members who "SHIELD" Sanchez in all he does and agree with all Valverde's schemes for them to be 'permanently "removed" by the Lord.
Believe me, as the Bible states, "In as much as you did it to one of my little ones you did it unto me."
I have seen this generation after generation of the Gb and even Pastors and Bishops and "they were removed by the Lord.

The Truth For Once, sounds like you are in the wrong church IMO. Its hard to go to church with that type of "leader" with those tacky tactics, yet don't expect to have him thrown out soon though.

and when the anointed Pastor Dave arrived he wanted to chage the music to just noise.

The MD is considering lifting up offerings the next two Sundays at every church to help out all the Apostolic victims of IKE! Their thought is to raise big offerings keep half and send half to Texas this might help ease a little of the stressful convention environment.

My suggestion is why doesn't the GB that has double salaries send their Church salary portion money to all the Apostolic Members in the Texas Coast that were affected by "Ike" distruction.

I will use an example to make my point.
If a woman that is in an abusive relationship leaves, did she fail or did she free herself from future pain and anguish ?
If an individual leaves a low paying job that is also a hostile and stressful environment, did he fail ?
Or did he attain freedom to excel at another job and truly do rewarding work ?
So I ask again, Did anyone that left the AA fail ?

As for the 'wrong to sue . . . ' unfortunately the constitution does not allow for any other remedy. A vote of confidence, impeachment or any other accountability for the DGB does not exist.
One last thing to point out, the publicity - within the AA - will help the organization grow. Those remaining will demand a change.

Las iglesias herederas de la calle Azusa de los Ángeles, se encuentra ahora en una fase histórica semejante a aquélla en que se encontraban las iglesias no pentecostales ( de donde procedían éstas ) de principio del siglo pasado: autoritarismo, cerrazón, intolerancia y esclerosis espiritual e institucional. Sus estructuras piramidales y autoritarias, con cien años de vida, no responden ya a los retos de una sociedad libre y participativa, como lo es la sociedad moderna. Sus dirigentes, más que auténticos líderes religiosos, son gerentes que, lejos de los ideales de servicio de los pioneros, manejan a la iglesia con criterios empresariales. El crecimiento de estas organizaciones en recursos humanos y económicos, les ha dado mucho poder, de tal manera que han caído en prácticas de autoritarismo extremo y tiranía. Los recursos abundantes de las iglesias les permiten comprar lealtades y reprimir con mano de hierro a los que manifiestan su inconformidad con sus prácticas. Abundan en este mundo cerrado de las iglesias las imposiciones, las amenazas, las presiones, el tráfico de influencias, el nepotismo, el terror y la violación a los derechos humanos más elementales, como son: el derecho a la libre expresión; el derecho a las prestaciones laborales; el derecho a la dignidad humana y otros.
La clase política que gobierna estas iglesias es pequeña y grotesca. Son una caricatura de la clase política nacional. La actividad política está reservada a un pequeño grupo cupular que no rebasa las diez personas y que son hábiles en las manipulaciones y las mañas. En cambio, castigan severamente a quines osan hacer política sin ser parte de esa élite. Simulan democracia, sólo para legitimarse; pero cometen los peores fraudes electorales a través de sus comisiones calificadoras. No temen a Dios ni a hombre. No temen Dios, porque la política les ha cauterizado la conciencia; ni a hombre, porque saben que la iglesia es un grupo cerrado, y esto los hace creer que nunca los alcanzará el brazo de la justicia terrena.
Se aseguran, mediante reformas constitucionales, de ser cada día más pocos y selectos; y de concentrar mayor poder de decisión en todos los niveles estructurales de la iglesia.
Su forma de hacer política, a diferencia de los políticos mundanos, es subterránea y secreta. Se odian en periodos de elecciones, y se reconcilian cuando se ha decidido quién ganó el bastón demando. Se menosprecian mutuamente, pero se apoyan entre sí porque se necesitan para su sobrevivencia. A quienes han tenido la “gracia” de ingresar a ese círculo, se les impone como condición sine qua non el servilismo; y quines no dan esa medida, son expulsados.
Aparte del control de la política, tienen otro aliado: el sistema de administración de justicia. Este es su brazo ejecutor. Deliberadamente han dejado enmohecer este aparato para poder condenar a los condenables, según sus intereses. Es un sistema inquisitorio. Ellos mismos acusan, investigan y juzgan; si no directamente, si a través de sus emisarios. De antemano ordenan en qué sentido se dará el veredicto; y si los comisionados no garantizan su deseo, cambian de elementos; y aun más, si las incipientes normas penales que tienen estorban a sus propósitos condenatorios, pasan por encima de ellas. Vienen arrastrando un grave problema de legalidad. Carecen de todo sentido de justicia y de responsabilidad ante la ley. Ante la ley eclesiástica y ante la ley civil. Son arbitrarios, porque se sienten intocables. Desconocen, o fingen desconocer, que sus decisiones internas pueden ser impugnadas ante juzgados federales en la vía administrativa; amén de que, se pueden atacar también mediante quejas ante la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos.
Ante la opinión pública, dan una imagen de extrema piedad; pero cuando ven desafiado su poder, se tornan peligrosamente represivos, inhumanos, implacables y atroces. Quienes han logrado pasar ese campo minado son verdaderos sobrevivientes. Sólo sobreviven aquellos a quienes les ha sido revelado el misterio de la vida y de la muerte, como al profeta Ezequiel.
El monopolio del poder y del dinero, aunado a la condición sociocultural de los dirigentes de cúpula (clase media alta), hace que los ejecutivos de alto nivel menosprecien y ningunen a los obreros y pastores de base.
La riqueza está totalmente mal distribuida. Los ejecutivos erogan sumas cuantiosas en gastos de administración, que normalmente incluyen gastos suntuosos; amén de sueldos elevados que se incrementan a su antojo. Pero los obreros de base, no tiene ni para solventar los gastos más indispensables para ellos y sus familias. Los que derrochan justifican el estatus quo con el argumento de que ellos ya sufrieron y ahora les toca gozar. Los que cuidan del rebaño no toman de su leche; en cambio los que no lo cuidan, no sólo disponen de la leche, sino hasta de la vida de las ovejas.
La carga económica cae despiadadamente sobre las iglesias locales. Todo sale de ellas. Cualquier invento recaudatorio va con cargo a las iglesias. Se inventan mil formas de gravarlas. Muchas de las iglesias apenas subsisten y tienen lo absolutamente indispensable para su administración. El dinero fluye con facilidad hacia arriba, pero no baja ni a tirones hacia la iglesia local. Cuando por ventura se logra conseguir alguna ayuda económica para la localidad, se da en calidad de préstamo, se firman documentos mercantiles (pagarés) y se exige un riguroso cumplimiento de pago, so pena de que si no se cumple con ello, no habrá más apoyos; y el mal crédito del deudor perjudicará a todas las iglesias del distrito, de la superintendencia o de la región, según sea el caso.
El parámetro con que se mide la fidelidad a Dios, tanto de las iglesias como de los pastores, es el económico. Quien da más, está más en gracia de Dios que quien da menos. Las exigencias y las manipulaciones para sacar dinero, han empobrecido a las iglesias, porque se les ha privado de la bendición que está reservada sólo al que da con alegría. En este medio oneroso, nadie da con alegría. Todo mundo da quejándose, porque se saca el dinero a tirabuzón. La iglesia local se ha convertido en una auténtica “gallina de los huevos de oro”.
Además de la carga económica, la iglesia local tiene que sufrir en carne propia las cargas de otra naturaleza impuestas por la cúpula. Se le fabrican responsabilidades como “evangelizar”, “educar”, “misionar”, “ayunar”, “orar”, y cualquier otra ocurrencia que ande por allí gravitando en la mente inflada de los jerarcas, y se inventan formas de control para asegurase que la iglesia local no ignore las órdenes de arriba ( y no precisamente del cielo ). Empero no se le descarga de las imposiciones ya establecidas, ni se le apoya de ninguna forma para llevar a cabo esas tareas. De ahí que la iglesia tenga que estar, además de abrumada, distraída de su visión misionológica local. Esto es atroz, mayormente si se toma en consideración que muchas de esas imposiciones proceden del propósito de los gerentes de romper record. No hay nada cristiano en sus ocurrencias. Quieren pasar a la historia como los que lograron los mayores triunfos en sus administraciones. Van tras la condecoración solamente; y no precisamente para la gloria de Dios, sino para su propia gloria. Tan es así, que son capaces de mutilar a la iglesia si alguien osa contravenir sus ocurrencias programáticas.
Las iglesias locales sufren, además, lo que se llama en el argot político y jurídico, tráfico de influencias. Vistas en muchos casos como plazas magisteriales, se castiga o se premia con ellas. Si se quiere beneficiar a alguien, se le da una iglesia solvente; si se quiere perjudicar a alguien, se le quita la iglesia solvente y se le envía a una iglesia en formación. Esto hace que las iglesias carezcan de liderazgo. Son entidades sin cabeza que están siempre en crisis porque no tienen dirección confiable. De donde se desprende que esas iglesias no sólo son iglesias abrumadas, sino además en crisis permanente. En cambio, a los gerentes no les interesan las iglesias (aunque rasguen sus vestiduras al oír esta afirmación); les interesa asegurar los cuadros directivos que les faciliten el control del poder. Tan no les interesan las iglesias, que en un problema de división, se resignan con facilidad a perder a los hermanos, pero jamás se resignan a perder las propiedades de la iglesia, aunque éstas hayan sido el fruto del esfuerzo y sacrificio de los hermanos, y los gerentes no hayan puesto un solo centavo para su adquisición. Se aprovechan del oportunismo de que el membrete de la organización está escrito en el frente del edificio, para despojar a las congregaciones de sus bienes.
Los pastores se ven obligados a dividirse en dos categorías: los que optan por ser fieles a los gerentes (a costa de ver esterilizado y distraído su ministerio), y los que prefieren ser fieles a sus convicciones, que muchas veces se ven obligados al estigma del menosprecio, del aislamiento, del señalamiento y muchas veces hasta de la expulsión de las organizaciones.
Los gerentes no admiten divergencias. Todo mundo tiene que achatarse; emparejarse; y si alguien marcha a ritmo distinto, sea anatema. Los pastores que disienten, son perseguidos, difamados; y en un santiamén se los trasforma de santos en demonios. Se les busca y magnifica el hilo negro, y si éste no existe, se los inventan. Son una parodia de Elías, que pueden hacer de una minúscula nube una tempestad. No les importa la dignidad humana, ni de los pastores ni de sus familias; sólo les importa descargar con rabia desbocada el golpe de la represión. Invocan el celo cristiano para justificar su agresividad, pero en realidad no es más que el celo de su ego herido, que no tolera el desacato de los que disienten. Con saña inaudita enfrentan hermanos contra hermanos, y ay de aquel que no se preste al juego, porque pone en riesgo su reputación, su trabajo, su carrera ministerial y su cabeza.
En su lucha contra los auténticos pastores, los gerentes tienen dos ventajas: el monopolio del poder y del dinero, y el monopolio del membrete. Tienen dinero para viajar, contratar abogados, sobornar funcionarios y comprar lealtades. Pero su arma más poderosa es el control del membrete, el símbolo; que en los pueblos indígenas era un objeto como una máscara, una piedra, un anillo, un báculo o cualquier otra cosa; pero que en el medio religioso es el nombre de la denominación. Hacen creer a los hermanos sencillos y crédulos que si se rebelan contra su autoridad, se rebelan contra la iglesia, y en consecuencia ya no tienen el símbolo que tanto aprecian. El símbolo es un poderoso recurso de manipulación. La hermandad heredera de la calle Azusa no ha descubierto que tanto el símbolo como la iglesia, han sido secuestrados por estos gerentes perniciosos, y que es necesaria una rebelión santa contra éstos para poner fin a su reino de injusticia y terror.
Por otro lado, no es un membrete lo que nos identifica. Es una fe común, como decía San Pablo. Es una doctrina básica de la salvación centrada en nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Es una cultura cristiana. Es una forma de concebir el mundo y a nosotros mismos. El membrete es lo de menos. Es posible renunciar a una dirigencia de abusos, sin renunciar a nuestra identidad cristiana. No importa que no nos cobijemos con un mismo manto jurídico (denominacional), si estamos unidos por un mismo Espíritu.
Los gerentes aterrorizan a los disidentes con “la maldición de Tutankhamón”. Esta era una maldición que alcanzaba a todo aquel que se atreviera a profanar la tumba del faraón de ese nombre. El mito literario se inventó para proteger la tumba de ese rey de los buscadores de tesoros que profanaban las tumbas para robar las joyas con que sepultaban a los faraones. Al igual que el mito de esa maldición, los gerentes eclesiásticos hacen creer a los sencillos que, quien se rebele contra su autoridad, está condenado al fracaso. Citan infinidad de ejemplos para ello. Los que esto escriben, así lo creyeron por mucho tiempo; y así lo predicaron. Con el correr del tiempo, la experiencia y la observación, nos hemos convencido de que dicha maldición tiene una explicación lógica: los disidentes tienden a reproducir las mismas estructuras y vicios que combaten; y se condenan al aislamiento. Renuncian a una jaula grande, pero se construyen una más pequeña. Cambian los roles, de tal suerte que quienes eran oprimidos, ahora se convierten en opresores. Pero como ya nadie tolera la represión, quienes echaron su suerte con los disidentes se ven decepcionados, y consecuentemente es segura la desbandada. La única forma de que esa maldición no nos alcance es cuidando de no reproducir los vicios que combatimos; lo cual obviamente no es fácil, ya que abrevamos toda una vida del modelo autoritario de liderazgo, y vaciarse de ello, requiere sin duda de una cirugía mayor con bisturí divino.
Ante tal panorama, un grupo de pastores sobrevivientes de esos campos de concentración recibimos simultáneamente la visión de que, la única alternativa viable a esta problemática, es la formación de una fraternidad de pastores autónomos, como fue en los inicios de estas iglesias pentecostales, a la que denominamos:
FRATERNIDAD INTERNACIONAL DE PASTORES AUTÓNOMOS.

Thanks for the explanation. Although, I still believe that the hermanos that got booted should start another organization. The brothers did not leave the assembly, they got kicked out. I would love it if the assembly would take them back, but looking at the history of the AA that normally does not happen. Like factsonly1 already said,so much dirt coming out about the pastors who are part of the lawsuit, that you will want to vomit. That's what they do. If you leave the AA they will do everything possible to ruin your reputation. Or else, they will make you feel like a sinner if you side with the people that they remove from the church. Like factsonly1 said, if you side with the brothers that sued you side with the devil and you are a loser, and are on the side of defeat. With this kind of attitude I don't really think that all those that left are going to come back into the Organization. That's why I feel that it is better to just start a new one.

What if you were about to loose that a month? How would you feel if you, factsonly, were to loose $12,000 a month? You would no longer be able to live if you have gotten use to having that money to buy Escalades, jet ski's, several properties, time shares in Baja, traveling to Rome. Missing out on the annual GB Christmas banquet for GB and family only!
Have you been around the GB and their elaborate spending? You have but you just don't realize it because it is your daddy that is spending the money for you!
So if your income it going to drop from $20,000 a month to $10,000 month and you are going to loose creditability with the people, including your own congregation; it is better to fight this to the end.

First learn how to read before you try to answer. I also said truthfully and intelligently that’s why THOUGHT FOR THE DAY has not replied.
You mention Bishop Sanchez and Valverde, that they rigged the election to benefit financially, but they were voted in with an overwhelming majority. Their legitimacy of having received overwhelming votes is not in question.
And of course they receive a salary, just like Baldemar Rodriguez received for 24 years and Daniel Salomon also for 8 or 12 years. Maybe that’s why they are so upset they are not on the General Board anymore.
But the question is how is it that they benefited financially by taking the decision to excommunicate the plaintiffs since they are continually accused that they made this decision out of greed. And that everything they do is out of greed. Now speak facts only and not skotty lies.

The Romero were faithful members of the Church in Anaheim.And were quite old. They had two daughters and one son who should have inherited this property.

Its late, but I have a few moments.
Had several calls for me to reply to you on this.
I wasn't because Iam called "gossipier by Factsonly. But I have facts only.. That I have seen and lived.
When Brother Eframin Valverde was young he came to the
San Diego Area from T.J.
At that time the President of the Church of Mexico was Presiding Bishop Maclovio Gaxiola.
Brother Maclovio was also a song writer. gave the music to psalms 121. 'Alsare mis ojos a los montez, and "Mas Alla del Sol," and also "Cuan Gloriosa en comunion los Santos" Wonderful songs that are lost by these so called musicians and "GROUPOS DE ALABANZA" LOL.,
Bishop Maclovio wrote others I do not remember without the song book.
Going back to Brother Efrain, when he came across the border, Bishop Maclovio told members of the then GB, 'CUAIDADO CON ESE TORO'. Meaning, "be careful with that Bull".
and lo and behold his words came true...
It was about 1965 in Phoenix, Arizona on the church that was bought and was "torn" down by the "Sky Harbor Airport" Phoenix.
The pastor there was Isabel V. Macias, who teamed up with Brother Valverde. "Two peas in a pod." Also teamed up with Brother Cirilio Leyba , Bishop of New Mexico.
Brother Valverde, made a TEAM right away, with those that he knew would be '
"wanna be President like him."
He was Pastoring the Church in Salinas, and since he was born in the U.S. from migrant workers parents, who later took him to Mexico where he grew up.
He felt he was more "American" then the rest of the Gb.
When he was elected President of the AA. He "swelled" puffed" up.
As was told to the AA by Bishop Gaxiola and Bishop Ortega and Bishop Rivas from Mexico had already had terrible experiences with Brother Valverde in Mexico.
But, remember, Brother Valverde was articulate in Spanish, had a good strong voice and was MC and sang during the song services of the "Intro., to the General Conventions.
Efrain Valverde, started "bucking horns' with the 'Real Presiding Bishop"Brother Nava who was mystical, quite and "under the waters. As the saying goes,
"still waters run deep."
Very smart, very shrud, very very calculating, calm and collective.

Brother Efrain started to "wanna change things." Assigning Pastors, here and there and of course making sure that he had a "big follow up of "Pachecos and Valverdes and Contereas.
By this I mean that in every church where there were members of these three families, they were to be "ordained" in order to "vote" during the elections.
Then the "clificadora commission", was established. (Only to be the means of disqualifying Brother Valverde, years later.
Rememember there had not been any elections "allowed" for the terms for over 30 years. Brother Nava was President, since Brother LLorentes going to live with the Lord.
Then the struggles begin. Brother Valverde tried, this and tried that. Every thing he suggested was "knocked down by Brother Nava"
Brother Nava was always the "Presiding Bishop, no matter who was President...
If the President wanted to "move a chair" 'it had to have a clearance, by Brother Nava.
Brother Efraim tried to "excercise the office of the Presidency job. (To put it mildly)
something like what Daniel SAnchez is doing now.

And there were almost "blows" during the Ministerial meetings, at the Concourse in San Diego.
Brother Efrain, came into the lobby of the Concourse Convention Center, and literally "shoved" people into the auditorium.
He had been "taunted" so much in the Ministerial Meeting, with no's and more no's that he "blew his stack."
But you see if these old timers were around this GB would have "never gotten away" with all these 'HIGH' salaries, nor with ANY OF THESE INDIVIDULS going to be in the GB.
These type of individuals would have never been approved to be in the GB.
So in Bakersfield, not being re-elected Brother Efrain DIVIDED with all the Pachecos and Valverdes. Even Brother Cirilo Leyba from New Mexco divided.
It was a shame. with all the beautiful songs he wrote, But in truth, Brother Efrain was "Bold" but he was not "WISE" nor a praying man.
Bishop Daniel Sanchez reminds me alot of the character of Brother Efrain."Singing, "LIME LIGHT" SEEKERS,LACK OF Indentification I. D. and low self esteem complex.
Wanting to cover up their estranged child-hood and trying to obtain "approval" from everyone.
Pretenting to be "well read" but not showing any proof of that. No personal growth.

I personally know that he has a wonderful wife and a very special and kind son. So Brother Efrain was very blessed.
He was actually taken out of the Salinas Church, by order of Brother Nava then President, to have the Salinas Police escort Brother Efrain out.
But it was not until Brother Sam Valverde married a Contreras that the name "Valverde" was again "tolerated in the Apostolic Assembly.
His father in-law, Brother David Contreras who was Bishop in San Dieog District had alot of influence in many assignments for Brother Sam Valverde.
